Class of '62 to Celebrate 50th-Year Anniversary in 2012

Carver HS National Annual Alumni Picnic

Carver HS National Annual Alumni Picnic at Dr. MLK Park will take place on Sat. August 25, 2012 from Noon until 5 PM. This is another free, fellowshipping event open to all members of the Carver HS Class of 1962.

2012 Carver HS Annual Red and White Scholarship Ball

Class of 62 alumni are encouraged to attend the Carver HS Annual Red and White Scholarship Ball which will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 from 7:00 PM - 1:00 AM at the Memphis Botanical Gardens.  The proceeds from this well-attended, annual event provide scholarship awards to qualifying Carver HS graduates.  The number of scholarships awarded each year varies depending on alumni participation.  Ten $1,000 scholarships were awarded in 2010 and five in 2011. This year the Class is seeking to purchase two 10-seat tables at this event by October 1st.  Tickets are $50 each.

2012 Carver HS Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Annual Carver HS Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at Pine Hill Golf Course on June 9, 2012.  Four Person Team Scramble, team registration 7:00 am, shotgun start, tee time 8:00am, fees $65. per player, remit fees by June 1st., checks payable to GWCNAA, INC P. Class of '62 Plans "Mini-Reunion" in June 2009

The G. W. Carver HS Class of '62 will be holding a Mini-Reunion on June 19, 2009. This one-evening event will be held at Memphis Sounds Bar and Grill located at 22 N. Third St., between Court and Madison, from 8 PM until. This event is free to all classmates; with an $10 charge for spouses or other guest.

We will have a reserved area. Live music (our era), h'dourves and a cash bar is available. If you require more hardy food Pollard's A & R Barbecue is located adjacent to Memphis Sounds.

Classmates planning to attend are requested to please RSVP as soon as possible so final plans can be established. We would love to see all of you especially if you have been unable to attend in the past. Please RSVP to:

G. W. Carver National Alumni Association Meetings

GWC National Alumni Association meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month September through June of each year.  The meetings are held at Bloomfield Baptist Church located at 105 So. Parkway West. No meetings are held during the months of July and August.  The meetings begin promptly at 12 Noon and last until approximately 1:30 PM.  Association monthly meetings are open to the general public and both Carver HS alumni as well as other community members are urged to attend.
